Adelaide City Double Exposure.

Panoramic photo of Adelaide

Adelaide City.

Last year I took this photo after spending a day selling my work at Adelaide Festival Centre markets that are held each Sunday.

At about 5.00 as the sun was about to set I set up my camera from across the Torrens and was hoping that the sun would shine through the clouds and light up the city for me. To my surprise it happened and I am glad I waited, I was only lucky enough to get 4 photos, as it didn’t last very long. I will also be adding a photo of the city that I took before this one to my site as well.

After the sun had painted the city with the yellow light, I left my camera alone and didn’t wind onto the next frame. I then waited an hour for the sun to set completely and it was then that I took my second exposure of the city lights. I think from memory it was about a 3 min exposure.

The above photo is a result of that.

  1. great result on the double exposure Casey ! the vibrancy is superb.

  2. Thanks Tony, I had a client in Adelaide who wanted it to be printed on Ilfrachrome and the detail in the whole print as well as the density in the blacks were just amazing.

  3. Hi Casey, just happened upon your blog. This is an amazing image. Nice creative technique too with a great result. Cheers, Thomas
