Hasselblad 6×6

A few years ago I sold my Hasselbald 6×6 Medium Format to Matt Lauder for an agreed value and while I was never using the camera I was never dissapointed about it at the time. But then I saw and watched some of the photos he was able to get from the camera, I then began to think I wished I had never sold it as he achieved great results from the Hasselblad, and knowing the sharpness and quality of these cameras I began a search on Ebay and it wasn’t for quite some time before I found one I was happy to bid on and ready to start shooting with as a kit, although I am not one to be a frequent user of Ebay I was still a little nervous about loosing money, but once I had made a purchase I waited at the post office each day to recive the camera I wished I had never sold in the first place.
As in a previous post where I talk about shooting in my backyard , I also went out with the Blad and took this in my front yard of a flower that is growing in my hedge, using the new 400x slide with an extension tube I was able to get reasonably close and great image size, this is cropped to about 80% of the image and is sharp like I recalled from using these systems before. This is my first shoot with it and I am happy that is all works well and is nice and sharp. Plus the 400X has no color cast to speak of and gives great color rendition. Gotta love that Fuji film. And it will be a great camera to take with me on my trip to WA and anywhere else I go.

Congrats on the purchase Casey I can see why you’re excited !! I’ve been considering getting a Hasselblad X-pan for years as I still love shooting film.
6×6 is a bit of a weird format to be composing for though isn’t it ?
Thanks Flemming, its is odd to shoot a straight square format, but I have crop marks in the viewfinder that allow you to crop so you can sell standard size prints such as 10×8, 11×14in and so on, or the square prints as well and you don’t loose too much of the image either so the quality is not lost at all.
Excellent Casey ! Love the vibrancy of this image and the camera should bring great fun and results.
cheers,
Thanks Tony, I am positive it will, I bought a book that was produced by Ben Knapinski on the Gibb River Road, looking at was is along the way should be awesome through there.
Could you please contact me… I am interested in your Katherine River Low Level picture…
